Mist in the Vijlenerbos

On the 19th of November the weather conditions were perfect for woodland photography. Early in the morning I left home with the intention to shoot some wet and gloomy woodland images in the Vijlenerbos. Yes, at arrival the forest was wet, still dark and a bit gloomy. That morning, I was really lucky, there was thick mist in the woodland. I decided to visit some places I really know inside out. This could be the change to improve on some compositions.

It is rare as a “photographer in spare time” to encounter these weather conditions in a favourite woodland. Generally, on Saturdays, I have the most free time to do some photography. Words cannot explain how fulfilling it is to have the possibility to do woodland photography in perfect conditions.

I realised that I could not get to all the known locations on time. Mist never stays a long time in this woodland. Also the rising sun was trying to peak trough the mist. All those visits to this woodland did build up the local knowledge needed. I took the shortest route through the forest to visit my most favourite places.

Enclosed I present some of my favourite photographs of this beautiful wet, gloomy and misty forest. All photographs are shot with my trusty Fujifilm XT3 and the 35mm F2 Lens. All these images will also be printed. My most favourite is the featured photo on top of this post.

I hope you like the images.
