Ricohflex adventures

Last weeks I have been mostly out with the Ricohflex Dia. It is a TLR camera and certainly older than me. Some months ago I bought it from a camera-shop in Japan. It took some time and import duties to arrive at my place. It is a film camera for shooting 120mm film in the 6×6 square format.

The weather was really bad for using the 4×5 large format camera (a lot of wind and rain) so I opted for this vintage camera. It is really fun using this camera. It is not a heavy and big camera. It fits easily in my small shoulder bag. The ground glass of this camera is not so bright, so critical focusing is not easy. The shutter mechanism does function but I am not sure if the shutter times are correct. The lens of the camera is also susceptible for lens flare. But what can you expect from an old vintage TLR.

In search for new ideas for a photo project I visited the waterside at Maastricht (Netherlands) and Visé (Belgium).

Enclosed in this post you find some favourite images of those photo walks. The double exposure did came out fine also.

The images are all shot with Kentmere PAN 400 black and white film, developed at home with 510Pyro (stand development 1hour 10 minutes), scanned with my Fuji XT3 camera, converted and edited in Capture One.

I prefer the most to be out in the woods. Visiting the waterside however was also fun and brought me some ideas for a new photo-project. So to be continued ………
